IHOP–KC Healing Rooms
There are five rooms in the prayer room designated for ministering to those in need of healing. The foundation of the healing ministry is based on the truth of Isaiah 53:4–5, “Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows ... And by His wounds we are healed.” Matthew 8:16–17 refers to this Isaiah passage saying, “And [Jesus] cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.’” We believe it is Jesus’ desire to heal the sick; this is clear not only from the prophecies written about Him, but also from His own life and ministry when He walked on the earth. In His eternal Kingdom there is no sickness or disease. He told the apostles to go and heal the sick, declaring that the Kingdom of God had come into their midst (Luke 10:9). We are contending as a prayer ministry, that no sickness or disease known to man would be able to stand in our midst. Our Father in Heaven, holy is Your name. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on the Earth, in our midst, just as it is in Heaven.
General Healing Rooms
No pre-registration is required for the general healing rooms. Upon arrival, simply sign up with the receptionist at the front desk. You will then be led into the prayer room for a time of silent soaking prayer, before being taken into one of the healing rooms for a time of focused, private prayer. The healing rooms are staffed with teams of three healing ministers who will first minister communion to you, emphasizing the bread, His body, that was broken for you, providing healing for your sickness. Then they will pray for you, anointing you with oil if you desire. Each minister has a separate role in order to provide those who are seeking healing a comfortable, encouraging and loving experience.
Bethany Healing Room
The Bethany Room is designated for the critically and terminally ill. The same healing model is used in the Bethany Room except that contemplative prayer is used during the prayer time. Contemplative prayer is silent prayer communing with the Holy Spirit who dwells inside of believers in Jesus. This style of prayer provides a peaceful and restful atmosphere while those ministering cry out to the Lord in silence for healing. The one receiving ministry is taught how to pray through and meditate on scriptures concerning healing while communing with the indwelling Spirit. “If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:11).Please pre-register for the Bethany Room by emailing healing@ihop.org with “Bethany Room” in the subject line.
Prenatal Prayer
Prenatal prayer is for expecting mothers. We will pray for the health of mother and baby during the pregnancy. 9:30–11:30AM, Mondays and Thursdays.
Traveling Healing Teams For those who live in the Kansas City area, yet are unable to attend the healing rooms during the hours above, please email healing@ihop.org with "Traveling Healing Team" in the subject line to schedule an appointment for a team to come to your home.
