Behold My Servant the Message of Justice
I. RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUSTICE AND THE FOUNDATION OF HIS THRONE (PS 97:2)
7 “ …now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? 8“I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:7-8 A. There is a vision in the heart of the Father to establish justice in the earth. The subject of justice lies as the very core of the apostolic gospel proclaimed by the Son of God and the apostles of the early church. The establishing of Justice is central to the 1st and the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ B. The subject of justice lies as the very core (Ps 97:2) of the apostolic gospel as proclaimed by the Son of God and the apostles of the early church. The establishing of justice is central to the 1st and 2nd comings of Jesus Christ.
II. THREE KEY COMPONENTS OF THE END-TIME JUSTICE MOVEMENT
A. Night and Day Prayer (Lk 18) – B. End-Time proclamation of the Just One as the Bridegroom, King and Judge – C. Works of Justice (Mic 6:8, Jm 1:28, Lk 4:18) –
III. NIGHT AND DAY PRAYER MUST BE JOINED WITH NIGHT AND DAY WORKS OF JUISTCE
A. The end-time prayer movement is an eschatological justice movement. The 24/7 cry for justice must go together with 24/7 works of justice (Mal. 4:6); especially Life issues. 1. Pro-life – 2. 10,000 orphans – 3. Adoptions – 4. Human Trafficking – 5. Approx $ 1,000,000 to the poor in Myanmar – 6. Evangelism – 7. Physical healing – 8. Resisting all forms of racism – 9. Eschatological messengers of justice (forerunners contending for the faith) – 10. Israel (the ultimate battle ground) – 11. Repentance and healing from all forms sexual brokenness – 12. Invading all the spheres of society (government, media, market, education, etc) – 13. Solemn Assemblies – 14. Prayer ministries embracing the wilderness call – B. The End-Time prayer movement is an eschatological justice movement.
IV. A FALSE JUSTICE MOVEMENT
A. "The present social justice movement is preparing the poor of the earth to receive the Anti-Christ!" (Rev 13:16-17) B. The subject of justice is often fueled by sentiment and political platforms rather than truth. There is emerging in the earth a false justice movement that is rooted in politics and humanism and devoid of the apostolic revelation of Jesus Christ. If we do not address the issue of social justice the way the Scripture answers the issues, believers will drift and neglect our great salvation (Heb 2:1). C. The growing social justice movement is fueled by humanism, the seeds of which cause the questioning of the sufficiency of the gospel of the kingdom. (The person of Christ, cross, the Lake of Fire, inward transformation through repentance, etc) 1 “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” Heb 2:1 D. The subject of justice on the earth is vast and complex starting our need to be justified in the court of heaven as individuals but the gospels also covers the vast subject of justice related to abortion, poverty, misogyny, oppression in the marketplace, law enforcement, medicine, education, employment, public services, racism (systemized prejudice), corruption, sexuality, immigration laws, the church’s posture before and interaction with government, the individual destiny of nations, etc. E. The issue that is facing the church in regards to the subject is not a new humanitarian method or program but the issue of the apostolic ministry of intercession; the apostolic gospel that is to be brought to the poor and the oppressed with apostolic power flowing from apostolic lifestyles. The poor and the oppressed need a message that will raise them up out of the ash heap of their personal depravity, as well as individual and corporate oppression. F. Our hope is to return to our DNA, the apostolic gospel, the preaching of Christ, which is the true message of justice to the governments, the nations of the earth and to the poor and the oppressed. The true gospel will fuel the poor and oppressed with endurance (Mt 7:24-25) for the greatest crisis that lies ahead of them.
V. ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD
“For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus”. Romans 3:22-26 A. One of the realities that must be confronted in the subject of justice is that there is not one person in the earth, not one governmental system, political party, culture, social status or gender that is righteous. A great error in the present social justice movement is the “sanctifying” or the “deifying” of any group where by virtue of their position or status in society they get assigned a moral standing before God. B. The issue of justice starts with our right standing with the Godhead in Christ Jesus without which there is no justice. The day that humanity broke fellowship with God is when injustice entered into the world. C. Social action outside of the context of the gospel and the preaching of Christ is an opportunity to get our eyes off the injustices in our own soul and to begin staring at the injustices of others and their victims. D. Much of the present justice movement has a theology that is fueled by humanism, which starts with the plight of humans rather than the plight or the burden of the Godhead – “Adam where are you?” Human sentiment causes us to use the plight of humanity as a means to make sense of God’s ways rather than using the knowledge of God to make sense of the human dilemma. E. The progression of injustice is important 1. Our injustice committed against God 2. Our injustice committed against others 3. Injustice committed against us by others
VI. ISAIAH 42:1-13 -FOUR BASIC SECTIONS
A. 42:1-13 the vision of divine justice (ultimately seen in the millennial kingdom) B. 42:5-9 invitation to partner with God for the release of justice C. 42:10-12 global worship movement for the release of justice D. 42:13 the 2nd coming of Christ to establish 42:4 justice in the earth
VII. ISAIAH 42 A VISION STATEMENT FOR JUSTICE
A. There is a crisis in America and in the church of America greater than any form of social injustice. There is a great need in this hour for the apostolic preaching of the beauty and the splendor of the Man Christ Jesus. B. Isaiah 42:1-4 is one of the clearest prophetic statements concerning God’s vision for justice. It is essential that we lay a proper foundation with biblical contexts concerning the issue of justice lest human sentiment or partisan political agendas drive us. C. The issue of justice is more than a political agenda. The vision for justice lies deep within the heart of God. God is the God of justice, He loves and requires justice (Mic 6:8), His vision is to establish justice on the earth, and will see to it that it happens.
VIII. A PROPHETIC PATTERN FOR THE MESSAGE OF JUSTICE - ISAIAH 42:1-4
1 “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. 2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 ; He will bring forth justice for truth. 4 He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law.” Isaiah 42:1-4 A. Behold! My Servant whom I uphold … 1. Call to the lovesick gaze of encountering the beauty and the personhood of Christ the Lamb. 2. Call to an apostolic determination to know Christ and Him crucified. (1 Cor 2:2) 3. Prophetic proclamation of Christ (Rev 19:10) B. My Elect One in who my soul delights … 1. Proclaiming the love and zeal of the Father for His Son (Matt 3:17) 2. Call to heed and obey the Son of God (Mt 17:5) 3. Encountering the love and the zeal of the Father for His Son (Jn 17:26) 4. Proclaiming the Elect One as God’s final word and sole revelation of God (Heb 1:1-3) 5. Proclaim Christ as the appointed heir of all things (Ps 2:6-7) C. I have put My Spirit upon Him … 1. The revelation of His supernatural ability (Isa 11:1-3) 2. The revelation of His power and authority (Eph 1:19) D. He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles… 1. The Father’s vision for justice 2. The purpose of the Son’s 1st and the 2nd coming E. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. F. A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench 1. The patience of Christ 2. The gentleness of wisdom of Christ G. He will not fail nor be discouraged 1. Assurance of justice 2. Christ’s determination and holy zeal for justice. H. In this hour the Lord is calling for His people to respond to the apostolic mandate to encounter the revelation of the Just One and proclaim Him as forerunners to the nations of the earth. As we encounter Just One (Bridegroom, King and Judge), we will be able to properly discern the word of the Lord to the nations of the earth.
